Cayman Islands National Gallery launches party to celebrate film

unnamed-1The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands’ Young Patrons’ Circle have announced a launch party to celebrate the new documentary film Caymanian Art: A New Frontier by young Caymanian filmmaker Ernest Jacob Olde VI. 6:30 PM – 7:30 PM Red carpet welcome reception (valet parking available).
7:45 PM Young Caymanian Filmmaker Jacob Olde presents Caymanian Art: A New Frontier outside in the National Gallery Sculpture Gardens.
8:30 PM – 10:00 PM After-party hosted by One World.
Canapés, welcome cocktail, wine and refreshments served by Mise en Place throughout the evening.
Admission is free. Donations welcome.
About the Film | Caymanian Art – A New Frontier

unnamed-2This film is a documentary about the permanent art collection of the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands (NGCI), which makes up one part of Cayman’s National Collection of art. The film explores topics such as globilasation, conservation of cultural heritage and a growing collection of artwork “where yesterday meets today and seeks tomorrow”.

About the Filmmaker | Ernest Jacob Olde VI

Ernest Jacob Olde VI grew up in the Cayman Islands. At 20 years old he has formed his own film production company on Grand Cayman called Windmill Pointe Productions. All forms of art, and particularly music and film inspire Jacob.

This is Jacob’s first full film made during his final year at Oxford Brookes University as part of the fulfillment of his film studies degree program. Since graduating, Jacob will record his first album as a singer-songwriter and seek to develop his newly established production company.
