Shortly before 11:00PM on Saturday, 30 June, the 9-1-1 Communications Centre received a report of a burglary in progress at an address on Old Robin Road, North Side. Officers responded to the location within a few minutes and found a man inside the residence with a machete in his possession. The man, age 35 of North Side, was arrested on suspicion of burglary and taken into police custody.

Investigations conducted while the man was in custody led to him also being arrested on suspicion of a previous burglary in North Side.

The man has now been charged with Aggravated Burglary for the 30 June incident.

He is appearing in court this afternoon, 3 July, at about 2:00PM.
