ORIA Expansion Project Update

Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands (13 January, 2016) Work on Phase 1 of the Owen Roberts International Airport’s (ORIA) Terminal Building Renovation and Expansion Project is progressing well, despite some heavy rains in December which caused a few delays to the ground work activities.

The Contractor, Arch and Godfrey, has worked hard to minimize the impact and has been able to commence work this week on the erection

of the 29,000 square feet steel framed structure in accordance with the construction schedule.

Phase 1 includes the construction of a new baggage handling and screening area along with offices and a second floor mechanical room. The overall expansion project is expected to be completed in 2018.
