The various boards looking at Applications for Permanent Residency (PR) have now reviewed 322 with 235 decisions.

147 persons have now been granted PR with 88 persons being refused.

Please see attached for the totals.

The backlog of applications, however, doesn’t seem to be going down.

Neither does the backlog seem to be going up.

Every time we get the PR decision notices the backlog figure has stayed the same at 1,000.

And what does that tell us?

It tells us we cannot provide any estimation when the backlog will be cleared.

68 applications have been deferred so will presumably go back into the pile.

There is progress and shows there is action.

Let us leave it at that and not speculate further.
