Cayman Islands Pirates Week 5K/10K winners announced
[George Town, Grand Cayman, – The Pirates Week festival kicked off its annual sporting events with the 5k Walk/Run on Friday (November 9) evening along Harbour Drive. Just over seven dozen runners, some visiting from overseas and some dressed as swashbucklers, took to the street to participate in the annual run.
The Pirates Week 5K overall winners in the Male and Female categories are Patrick Harfield with a time of 17:16 and Tiffany Cole with a time of 20:21. Official race results as tallied by Race Caribbean can be found at http://racecaribbean.net/events/pirates-week-5knew-event-page/
The “To Hell N’ Back 10K” held on Sunday 11 November the saw a similar amount of people, many of whom were visitors, participating in the early morning race beginning on Raleigh Quay Road (near the Kimpton Seafire) heading north to the Hell attraction and back.

The Pirates Week Festival is the largest annual event in the Cayman Islands, drawing over 35,000 spectators each year. During this time, the islands are transformed into a mass of colour and revelry, with more than 30 different events being hosted over three weekends, across all three islands!
