Around 10:30PM yesterday evening, 21 April, police and fire officers responded to a report of a boat fire at sea visible from the Rum Point area.

The Joint Marine Unit deployed the M. Luke to the area to search for any boat in distress.  The M. Luke searched waters off North Side and into North Sound, but no boat in distress was seen.  The JMU nor Port Authority received any distress calls from a boat in distress.

The report was not confirmed.
