Cayman Islands police continues Community Clinics around Grand Cayman

rcips-logoRCIPS CONTINUES COMMUNITY CLINICS AROUND GRAND CAYMAN

The RCIPS will be hosting a number of Community Clinics at various locations on Grand Cayman from tomorrow, Wednesday 15 June through Saturday, 18 June.

These clinics are a continuation of the informal, open meetings that police held last year in areas with high foot traffic, such as supermarkets, malls and hospitals. The objective of the open format of such meetings is to create a more comfortable and convenient way for residents to speak directly to officers about community concerns, while in the course of their daily business. These concerns are then addressed through a Problem Oriented Policing and Partnership (POPP) approach, in which the community, police and other agencies work together to solve community problems.

Community meetings continue as well, but police have found that many members of the public prefer the convenience of the Clinics and the ease with which they can speak one-on-one with officers in this format.

“The idea of the Clinics is that we go to the residents, instead of residents trying to find the time in their busy schedules to come to us,” said Acting Chief Inspector Lloyd Marriott, Acting Area Commander for George Town District.

The schedule of the Clinics in the different Districts is below. A subsequent email will follow for the specific times at Countryside and Chisolm Market.
