Cayman Islands police respond to another planned motorbike ride
Police Respond to Planned Motorbike Ride Out This Sunday 3 December
The RCIPS has received information that another “Ride Out” involving the use of unlicensed and uninsured bikes on public roadways is likely being planned for this coming Sunday, 3 December.
“We have gotten reports that such an event may be happening again on Sunday and we have a strategic plan to respond to it,” said Deputy Commissioner Kurt Walton. “Anyone who is considering participating in this event should be warned that if you ride an uninsured or unlicensed bike, or you do not have a license, you will be prosecuted and the bike will be seized.”
He adds that those involved in organizing this event should bear in mind that aiding and abetting the riding of unlicensed and uninsured vehicles on a public roadway can make them culpable as well.
Anyone with any information on this event is asked to contact 916-3277 or email [email protected].
The RCIPS is also advising motorists to continue to report any dangerous or illegal driving by calling 9-1-1 or the Traffic Management Unit at 649-6254.
