Cayman Islands police respond to two separate incidents overnight – gun fired
The RCIPS are investigating two separate incidents which occurred in the Margaritaville Night Club and in the car park last night.
- Around 11:57pm a 19 year old male of George Town was inside Margaritaville when he was struck to the face with a bottle, causing a laceration to the his neck. He was taken to the GTH, treated and later released.
Police are seeking to identify two males in relation to this incident. The first is described as brown skin, slim build, about 5’8” tall, with braided hair, with beads at the ends. The second male is described light skin, also about 5’8” tall.
- As officers were dealing with the victim, their attention was drawn to another altercation taking place in the parking lot. As armed officers approached, a firearm was discharged. Officers pursued two males dressed in dark clothing towards Fort Street. However, they were able to avoid arrest. Officers subsequently discovered what appeared to be gunshot damage to a vehicle in the parking lot.
