GRAND CAYMAN, Cayman Islands – Premier Hon. Alden McLaughlin will travel to Jamaica this weekend to attend the funeral of former Jamaica Prime Minister the Most Hon. Edward Seaga.

The State Funeral for Mr. Seaga will be held on Sunday, June 23, beginning at noon, at the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity in Kingston. Interment will follow at the National Heroes Park.

Mr. Seaga, who was Jamaica’s fifth Prime Minister, died on 28 May, 2019, on his 89th birthday. Mr. Seaga had visited the Cayman Islands many time and had close ties with Caymanians.

Traveling with the Premier will be his Senior Political Advisor, Mr. Roy Tatum.
