PFL Playoffs: Fourth Round Review
PFL semi finals confirmed
The semi final stage is set for Saturday, January 24 in the 2014/2015 CUC Primary Football League (PFL) Playoffs following the fourth and final round of qualifying games, which were played this past Saturday at the Annex Field.
In the Under 9 Consolation Cup, South Sound Schools defeated Truth For Youth 1-0 and George Town Primary secured their first win of the season with a 3-0 defeat of Bodden Town Primary.
Although losing their final qualifying game, Truth For Youth retain the number one seed and will play number four seed Bodden Town Primary in the semi finals. With their win South Sound Schools move into the number two spot and will face third seed Triple C for a place in the final.
In the Under 9 Champions Cup, Savannah Primary’s Jaquan Wray scored three times and Jaden Whittaker added a fourth as Savannah Primary defeated Prospect Primary 4-0; Sir John A. Cumber Primary and Cayman Prep battled to a 1-1 draw; St. Ignatius Prep drew 1-1 with NorthEast Schools and Red Bay Primary secured the fourth semi final spot with a 3-1 win over Cayman International School with goals from Bradley Erskine, Isaac Peart and an own goal. Cayman International’s Adam Purvis scored his school’s consolation goal.
With the win, Red Bay Primary secure fourth spot in the playoff standings and face number one seed Cayman Prep in the semi finals. Second seeds Savannah Primary will face third seed Sir John A. Cumber Primary for a place in the final.
In the Under 11 Consolation Cup, South Sound Schools defeated Cayman International School 3-2 and George Town Primary drew 2-2 with Bodden Town Primary.
In the Under 11 Consolation Cup semi finals, Cayman International School will play Bodden Town Primary and South Sound Schools face Prospect Primary.
In the Under 11 Champions Cup, Cayman Prep secured the number one seed with a 3-1 victory over St. Ignatius Prep thanks to two goals from Joshua Small and a solitary strike from Nathan Trickett against his former school. Matthew Lloyd-Hickey scored St. Ignatius Prep’s lone goal.
A goal each for Immanuel Duran and Akiel Bodden secured a 2-1 win over NorthEast Schools. North East’s Dante Connor made it interesting late in the game but the boys from North Side and East End could not find an equaliser.
In other games, Red Bay Primary defeated Sir John A. Cumber Primary 1-0 with Alejandro Holness grabbing a late winner after a wonderful exchange of passes with Elder Ebanks and Truth For Youth drew 2-2 with Triple C.
