Cayman Islands primary school makes the right start
The Principal, staff and students of Sir John A. Cumber Primary School made the right start to the 2015-2016 school year with praise, worship and the reading of God’s Holy Word. Special Intercessory prayer was offered by Ministers of Religion from the district of West Bay. Petitions were made on the behalf of the school faculty, student body, parents, school community, student services, the Department of Education Services, the Ministry of Education, and all stakeholders.
The Principal Mr. Wallace in his remarks, reminded the assembly to be ever grateful for the liberties and rights that they currently enjoy and not to take them for granted. He added that some people around the world are paying with their lives for political and religious freedom. He commended those who embrace the educational opportunities they have and further stated that it is the responsibility of others to show greater appreciation for the education that is being made available to them.
The annual programme was coordinated by Deputy Principal Mrs. Lumsden and Mrs. Esther Rivers-Support Assistant. The Principal and staff extend appreciation to the Pastors for their presence and participation in the event.
