Cayman Islands: Quick resolution of burglary case
From RCIPS: Thu, Nov 19, 2015 at 2:09 PM
The man arrested on 7 September, Shane Edward Connor, appeared in Grand Court this morning for sentencing after having entered guilty pleas to one count of burglary and attempted burglary in connection with the incident in Sterling Estates described below. The Court sentenced him to 30 months on each offence to run concurrently; he has been in custody since his arrest.
In our view this case is an example of quick and effective collaboration among the public, who quickly alerted police to a burglary-in-progress, the police, the ODPP, and the courts. Within two-and-a-half months the case has concluded successfully.
