Police can confirm that the structural fire yesterday on Shedden Road is being investigated as an act of arson.

Structural Fire along Shedden Road with Injuries this Morning, 27 December
This morning, 27 December, around 6AM, a structural fire was reported on Shedden Road to the rear of Archie’s Bar. A small residence with multiple occupants was on fire, and the fire was extinguished by fire officers. The cause of the fire is under investigation by police and fire officers.
Three people were injured in the blaze and were taken to the Cayman Islands Hospital. One woman has been released and the remaining two, a man and woman, remain in the hospital in stable condition.

We have received word of an explosion that occurred around 6am this morning (Wed 27). The ‘large’ explosion happened at a house on Shedden Road almost opposite Funky Tangs.
Our source said, “All the services are there including CUC and at least one person is believed to be taken to hospital. I have just walked there at 6.40am and all the services are still there but there is no sign of the fire and the road is still open, but blocked with emergency vehicles on one side.”
