Cayman Islands Seafarers put on a swinging social
The Cayman Islands Seafarers Association put on a real swinging social to welcome in the election of their new council last Tuesday (17) at the Seafarer’s Hall, Prospect, Grand Cayman.
When I say swinging I mean swinging!
After a sumptuous meal the guests ‘swung their engine’ to the fabulous ‘live’ music from the Back Beat Band.
No one wanted to leave. They just wanted to dance. And dance they did to the Caribbean and country rhythms from these talented Back Beat Band musicians.
Before the food and entertainment Master of Ceremonies, Neils Godfrey, introduced us to the new president, Ivan Farrington, OMH, who welcomed everybody to the social.
The hall was ‘packed to capacity’ with even Cayman’s Premier, Alden McLaughlin, and Cayman’s Minister of Financial Services, Wayne Panton, both present, who were seen joyously tucking into the great food.
Then the tables were removed, the chairs placed against the walls and the dancing shoes came on.
The new Seafarers Association Board comprises: Mr. Ivan Farrington OMH, President CISA, Captain Owen Farrington, CRT Hon.(Council Member) Mr. Ransford Terry, (Council Member) Mr. Wenzil Burlington,(Council Member)( Mr. Herbert Martin,(Secretary) Mr. Neils Godfrey, (Council Member), Mr. Steve McField, BA (Hon) LLB(Hon) CMH (Vice President) Mr. George Ebanks, (Council Member) Mr. Leonard Ebanks, OBE, CMH, JP (Treasurer).
President Farrington brings new and enthusiastic Leadership to the Cayman Islands Seafarers Association with his commitment to not only the completion of existing executive projects but to moving forward with new innovation projects. He will continue to uphold the Cayman Islands Seafarers Association protocols which will also recognize the arduous sacrifices upon the seas for the financial benefits earned, as well as to the commitment to our aging seafarers healthcare needs. The Seafarers have the determination to continue to ensure best healthcare technology driven solution outcomes for our beloved Cayman Islands and the whole population.
Thank you Seafarers for a super swinging social! ‘Til the next one.
