Cayman Islands Spookfest Oct 28 – Pedro’s Castle – Free Event

Hershey’s presents Spookfest 2017 sponsored by DMS (kiss, Hot, CayRock, 107), Tourism Attraction Board (TAB), Progressive, and Visual Art Society (VAS). The event is open to the public from 11 am to 3 pm at Pedro’s Castle and entrance fee is one Hershey wrapper per person or 2 per family.

There will be many fun Halloween activities taking place; coconut bowling, mini golf, pin the boo on the ghost, Kiss the Witch, musical pumpkins, skeleton limbo and so much more. The grounds will have food vendor stations; KFC, Wok N Roll plus Pedro spooky juice table, snow cones and fresh coconuts.
VAS will be providing Halloween arts and crafts in their Walter House Art Studio free for the children along with an ART Market under the tent outside the studio featuring arts, craft, children’s books and baked goods for sale by local artists.

Peripheral Life and Style will be selling their uniquely designed sunglasses and percentage of the sales will go to the VAS Kids Art Activity Programme. “They have some awesome kid’s sunglasses too!” says Mary McCallum, Marketing Coordinator for VAS, she further states, “VAS member and Artist, Shilpa, who is well known for her cultural jewellery, will be will be set up under the Tamarin tree with her items for sale offering face painting and henna tattooing”.

Kiwanis will have some fundraising items for sale at the Art Market and proceeds will go to support many of their community services for the children. They will also set up a reading corner in the Great House so the children and Adults can enjoy a fun or scary story by volunteer Kiwanians.

Last year almost 1000 children and adults cruised through the gates at Pedro St. James and many were dressed up for Halloween all enjoying the fun Spookfest day at Pedro’s. Lisa Ebanks, Artist and Board Member of VAS shares, “The costumes were fantastic, and the volunteers enjoyed dressing up as well”. “The actives were fun, the Haunted House was scary and there was a lot of free chocolate for everyone”.
