Steady Stream of Voters During Morning
On Cayman Brac and Little Cayman, the voting has also been smooth with an average voting rate of 10% an hour, Mr. Howell said.
Voting began at 7 am on all three islands and continues until 6 pm today (Wednesday, 24 May 2017), General Elections Day, which is a public holiday. “I urge the voters to vote early and not wait till the last minute,” Mr. Howell advised.
“I also ask them to check their names and polling locations in the registry on our website www.elections.ky, if in doubt, and refer to the list of polling stations that are also outlined with addresses on our website so that they arrive at the right location,” he noted.
“Finally, while this has been repeated, I ask voters to be mindful of casting only one vote in our new One Person, One Vote system that came into force during this General Elections,” Mr. Howell added.
So far, the voting has been smooth for the most part barring a few instances of canvassing beyond last midnight and several reports of canvassing within the 300 feet boundary today by candidate agents, he stated. “All reports are being looked into by the RCIPS,” he added.
