Cayman Islands swimming club hosts Flow 800M Sea Swim
The annual Flow 800m Sea Swim takes place Saturday, May 14th. The swim starts at 4pm, with registration from 3-3:45pm; and is a loop course, starting and ending at Governor’s Beach.
The Cayman Islands Amateur Swimming Association’s (CIASA’s) sea swims attract a wide variety of participants – competitive and non–competitive swimmers of all ages – and are a family activity which allow parents to set a great example of living a healthy life, by swimming with their children. Registration takes place at Governor’s Beach and registration entry fees are CIASA members: CI$10.00 for children and CI$ 15.00 for adults; non-members: CI$15.00 for children and CI$ 20.00 for adults.
CIASA President Michael Lockwood comments, “There has been a break since the last sea swim in early March. There are two 800m sea swims, the Flow 800m swim and one more before the Flowers One Mile, 5K and 10K Swims in June. These races are a great warm up for novice and competitive swimmers alike. We thank Flow for providing this opportunity and look forward to seeing everyone back in the water on May 14.”
All swimmers are provided with swim caps, which must be worn for safety reasons and there are event T-Shirts, trophies for the top three male and female finishers in each age group and Subway sandwiches and refreshments provided at the end of the race.
