Johnathan Welcome was formally charged with:

a) possession of an imitation firearm with intent to resist arrest
b) causing fear or provocation of violence

He appeared in court today (Mon 25).

Early this morning, the Drugs and Serious Crime Task Force, with the assistance of the Tactical Unit, K-9 Unit and CID, conducted a proactive operation at an address in Prospect.

The wanted person, Jonathan Welcome, age 22 years, was located and arrested on suspicion of possession of unlicensed firearm. This relates to the incident on 17th April in Georgetown where Police were confronted by an armed man.

One woman at the address, age 23 years, and a female juvenile, were also arrested for the offence of accessory after the fact. All three persons are in custody at the new police detention facility located at Fairbanks
