About 10AM on Saturday, 23 August, marine officers responded to a call from a member of the public on board a boat near Twelve Mile Bank, twelve miles offshore from Seven Mile Beach.  Those on board the boat had discovered ten packets of vegetable matter resembling ganja floating in the sea.  Marine officers recovered the packets and transported them to George Town Police Station, where they have been destroyed.

A picture of the packets is attached.  Altogether they weighed 77.6 lbs.
