Cayman Islands: Water-related death in George Town, 10 March

UPDATE: May 15 2018 – Police can now confirm the identity of the woman who died on Thursday, 10 May, after encountering difficulties while snorkeling. She is 64-year-old Doris Ann Sarauer, of Minnesota in the United States.
The RCIPS offers condolences to the family of the deceased.
Shortly after 11:30AM on Thursday, 10 May, officers responded to a report of a person in distress in the water at a location off South Church Street, George Town. A woman had been snorkeling when she encountered difficulties in the water. She was brought to shore by the leader of the snorkel tour and CPR was administered by him and emergency personnel. She was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital by emergency services and subsequently pronounced dead.
The woman, age 64, was a visitor from the US.
