Water-related Death of Woman, 14 August
Yesterday 14 August, police responded to a call from the 9-1-1 Communication Centre of a possible drowning. They were also informed that a boat was bringing the victim ashore to the Yacht Club Fuel Dock in West Bay.
The victim, a 70 year-old woman visiting from the United States and had arrived on a cruise ship, and was out snorkelling when it appeared she encountered difficulties. She was pulled from the water to the boat and persons from the excursion assisted the woman by performing CPR and giving her oxygen.
She was brought to land where medical assistance was taken over by the medics, however when the police arrived at the hospital the duty doctor informed that he woman died on arrival.

Wounding at McField Square Early Sunday Morning, 13 August
Around 2AM on Sunday, 13 August, officers responded to a report through the 9-1-1 Communications Centre of a fight at McField Square, but no one was there when they arrived. Later that morning a man reported to police that he had been stabbed in the leg and assaulted at McField Square by a man whom he knew. The man had been treated at Cayman Islands Hospital and released.
Police are investigating the matter and anyone with information is encouraged to call George Town Police Station at 949-4222.
