Cayman Islands: WORC welcomes Deputy Director Sian Pairaudeau

Workforce Opportunities & Residency Cayman (WORC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Sian Pairaudeau as its new Deputy Director of Labour Needs and Supply.

Mrs. Pairaudeau’s role will involve the implementation of strategies and procedures aimed to deliver durable employment and opportunities for the advancement of Caymanians in the workforce and evaluate labour market demands.

She will also be responsible for managing applications, adjudications and appeals of work permits, Caymanian status and permanent residency applications.

“WORC is an initiative that will change the way we approach the country’s labour market demands and I am eager to get started and make a difference,” said Mrs. Pairaudeau.

Mrs. Pairaudeau holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Accounting and a minor in Economics and she completed a Global Master of Business

Administration Programme at the London School of Business and Finance last year.
Mrs. Pairaudeau has served as a civil servant for over 16 years and has held several senior positions within Government. More recently, her 13-year tenure within the Maritime Authority of the Cayman Islands (MACI) saw her overseeing and coordinating various functions in communications and finance.

WORC Interim Director, Sharon Roulstone, welcomes Mrs. Pairaudeau to the department, saying:

“Mrs. Pairaudeau is uniquely qualified for this critical role and brings with her an abundance of knowledge and experience from a wide variety of senior positions. As WORC’s Deputy Director of Labour Needs and Supply, that knowledge and experience will help shape how we look at Cayman’s labour needs, allowing us to assess and fill labour market gaps by using data that has never before been captured.

This data, along with the National Jobs Clearing House, will assist in making more informed decisions across the spectrum of this particular section of WORC and will help Caymanians now and in the future, find meaningful employment.”

Mrs. Pairaudeau assumed her new role on 10 September 2018.

“I am honoured to help lead this reform initiative and reestablish an economic landscape that provides equal opportunities for Caymanians and empowers them to thrive in this increasingly complex world,” said Mrs. Pairaudeau. “I am extremely passionate about ensuring our Caymanian people fulfill their potential and I look forward to working with other WORC leaders to make this vision a reality for all.”
