Coming to a Theatre near you – next week!

Our Young Image Makers Short Film Competition of 2015 is almost at an end for another year. The online People’s Choice Award voting has now closed and the winner, along with two overall YIM winners, will be revealed at a special red carpet event on Friday, 19 June at the Harquail Theatre starting at 6pm, as part of CayFilm. Admission is FREE and all are invited to cheer on the finalists who will arrive by limo provided courtesy Grand Limo. Come see the finalists’ films on the big screen and have fun at the Glow Party afterwards! Lots of surprises and a special appearance by Miss Cayman Islands 2014/15 Tonie Chisholm to add that extra bit of glamour to the evening.

We would like to thank Cayman Airways for flying over our Cayman Brac Finalists especially for this event. The People’s Choice Award prize and the award for school with the most selected films has been donated by Nikon and Cathy Church’s Photo Centre. Special thanks must go to Department of Commerce and Investment who have provided sponsorship for the YIM programme and Cayman Islands Film Commission. With this funding we are able to fly our two overall winners to New York where they will enjoy a one week movie making camp at New York Film Academy!

The two Overall YIM Winners will also be attending the CayFilm Gala Closing Party & Awards ceremony at the Ritz-Carlton on Saturday 20 June, where they will each be presented with a handmade limestone and Caymanite trophy sculpted by local artist Horacio Esteban.
