Hon.).
The festivities will then continue with a Garden Tea Party outside of Government House – a favourite and nostalgic event for many Caymanians and residents. Attendees can look forward to a number of special treats, including: The Cayman Platinum Cake Competition Winner, Ms Anne Frawley’s ‘Cayman Sunrise Cake’, which impressed the judges with its inspired flavours, and art representing all things Cayman.
Business attire is expected, medals of honour should be worn.
In a spectacular finale that will be witnessed all across Seven Mile Beach a firework show will light up the skies at 8pm.
Speaking of the weekend ahead His Excellency the Governor, Mr Martyn Roper, said,
“In Her Majesty’s Jubilee Message, she said she hopes the coming days will provide an opportunity to reflect on all that has been achieved in the last seventy years, and I am sure we will do just that here in the Cayman Islands.”
Despite the rain, this will be a weekend filled with sentimental moments, fun and laughter, community spirit and recognition of deserving citizens. I look forward to Saturday’s (today’s) celebrations on the Brac and I look forward to the community joining me for the grand finale at Government House on Monday which is an open house event, with no invitation required.”
