Cayman: Lands and Survey Customers Receive “Special Appreciation” for 50-Year Anniversary
The Department of Lands and Survey held a special event for customers last week Thursday, 31 August. The main lobby of the Government Administration Building came alive with information booths, live demonstrations, complimentary refreshments and giveaways, live music and colourful decorations, all in celebration of the department’s 50 year anniversary.
Director of Lands and Survey, Uche Obi was present amongst all his staff who hosted hundreds of attendees. He commented, “50 years ago Lands and Survey opened its doors and began serving the public. This customer appreciation event underscores this milestone’s importance while extending our appreciation to the public for their continued support.”
In addition, customers received the opportunity to learn more about each of the various units within Lands and Survey and the services provided. Attendees received free live demonstrations of digital service tools such as the online map request service which allows customers to submit map requests at their own convenience.
Lands and Survey customer, Robert Bodden was one of the many customers in attendance and expressed approval for the event’s activities and was happy to receive his free gift, he commented, “This event was a wonderful idea and more events like this should be done. As customers we never really can appreciate what’s going in the departments until you have a chance to interact with them.”
Amongst the attendees were: the Governor-H.E Jane Owen, Deputy Premier and Minister for Lands-Hon. Julianna O’Connor Connolly and Acting Chief Officer for Lands-Wilbur Welcome.
