Cayman librarian goes to Blount County, Tennessee, USA
Williams named next library director
The Blount County Public Library Board of Trustees has picked Kaurri “K.C.” Williams-Cockfield to succeed Kathy Pagle as library director.
Board Chair Sharon Hannum made the announcement on Friday. Williams is an instructor in the University of Tennessee School of Information Science and former system director for the Sevier County Public Library System. After leaving Sevier County, Williams served as Cayman Islands Public Library service director for two years.
Hannum said that Williams made an excellent impression at the start of the interview process. “We became aware, acutely aware, of her magnetic personality. Not only is K.C. very knowledgeable in the area of being a library director, but she seems to be really, really passionate about the library. … She has a passion for books. She has a passion for learning. She has a passion for community.
Williams will take over on Jan. 2. She will be paid $75,000 per year.
