Just after 3:30PM on Thursday 9 December, officers from various units executed a search warrant at a residence located on Bodden Town Road. During the search, a handgun, as well as a magazine containing ammunition was located by the search team.

As a result of the recoveries made during the search, both a 33-year-old-man and a 24-year-old-woman of Bodden Town, were arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm. The recovered firearm, ammunition and other items were seized as evidence and both parties were then booked into custody, where they remained pending further investigation.

On Saturday 11 December, both the man and the woman were formally charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm and Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm (Ammunition), contrary to the Firearms Act (2008 Revision).

They are both expected to appear in court today, Monday 13 December.
