Shortly after 3:50PM Wednesday, 10 January, officers had cause to stop a vehicle which was travelling along Pedro Castle Road. Officers signaled the driver to stop, however he attempted to evade the officers and collided with a marked police vehicle. He proceeded to drive onto a nearby property and officers observed him throw a bag from the vehicle, which they subsequently recovered, and which contained a firearm.

The man was soon located and detained on a road off Pedro Castle Road. A search of his person and the vehicle was conducted and a quantity of drugs was recovered. The man, age 29 of Bodden Town, was arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm, possession of ganja with intent to supply, and possession of cocaine with intent to supply. He remains in custody as investigations continue.
