Cayman: Man Charged with Possession of Bullet-Proof Vest

Update (22 September):
A man, age 51 of West Bay, who was arrested on 1 July following a search where a bullet-proof vest was recovered, has now been formally charged with Possession of a Bullet-Proof Vest. He is appearing in court on Monday, 26 September.
Initial Release (5 July):
On Friday, 1 July, RCIPS officers, along with the Cayman Islands Customs and Border Control Drug Enforcement Team, conducted a series of searches under the Firearms Act.
During a search of a residence on Pleasant Drive, West Bay, officers recovered a bullet-proof vest, and a man, age 51 of West Bay, was arrested on suspicion of possession of a bullet-proof vest. He was subsequently granted bail.
Officers also conducted a search of a residence on Crewe Road, George Town, during which a firearm was recovered. A man, age 41 of George Town, and a woman, age 36 of George Town, were arrested on suspicion of possession of an unlicensed firearm. The woman was subsequently granted bail.
The man, age 41 of George Town, has since been formally charged with Possession of an Unlicensed Firearm. He appears in court today, 5 July.
The other two persons remain on bail as investigations continue.
