Cayman: Man Formally Charged for George Town Burglary

On the morning of Thursday, 14 November, officers responded to a report of a burglary at a business on Portland Road in George Town. It was reported that a staff member had arrived at the location and encountered a masked man carrying a crowbar, who appeared to be attempting to gain access to the premises. Upon seeing the owner, the man fled the location on foot before getting into a vehicle nearby and driving off. The door to the premises was subsequently found to have been damaged and entry gained.
Officers soon located the suspected vehicle and arrested one man in relation to the burglary. The man was searched and a quantity of ganja was also found on his person.
The man, age 21 of Bodden Town, has since been formally charged with Burglary, Damage to Property, and Drugs Offences.
He appears in court on Monday, 18 November.
