Shortly after 12:00AM on Tuesday, 10 December, officers responded to a report of a serious indecent assault which had taken place at a shopping plaza on West Bay Road, north of Snooze Lane. It was reported that a man had raped a woman in his vehicle, which was parked at the location. The man and woman were not known to each other prior to that night.

Police attended the location and arrested the suspect, a man, age 31, who resides in George Town. He has since been formally charged with Rape, and appeared in court today, 12 December. He has been remanded pending a further appearance tomorrow, 13 December.
