Grand Cayman, 01 July 2024: Residents are now able to collect sand from various locations across Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac. In an initiative to assist residents with their preparedness for Hurricane Beryl, Hazard Management Cayman Islands in coordination with the National Roads Authority have identified key points for sand to be collected to fill sandbags.  

Residents are encouraged to secure their homes and businesses, particularly those located in flood-prone areas. 

Sandbags are available from local hardware stores and sand can be collected from the following locations: 

1. East End Civic Centre 
2. Frank Sound Fire Station 
3. Anton Bodden Drive in Bodden Town 
4. Agriculture Grounds in Lower Valley 
5. Poindexter Road in Prospect 
6. Bobby Thompson Way Roundabout (on the left-hand side) in George Town 
7. West Bay Fire Station 
8. Watering Place Gardens in Cayman Brac 
9. Members of the Lions Club are on hand to assist with filling bags at the Lions Centre
