Grand Cayman, 15 March 2022 – Cayman Brac is in for a busy weekend from Friday, 18 March as The Ministry for Youth, Sports, Culture & Heritage (MYSCH) hosts four events this coming weekend.

“We are looking forward to sharing a lot of the energy and momentum within the Ministry’s portfolios with Cayman Brac residents,” said “MYSCH Minister, Hon. Bernie Bush.

The Ministry’s first-ever Youth Forum, to be held the Friday at Aston Rutty Civic Centre, is designed to allow youngsters from both sister islands to share and discuss issues affecting them and their interests. The feedback received from Friday morning’s event will further inform youth-related policies and initiatives to be undertaken by the Ministry and the youth development efforts of youth organisations in the public and private sectors.

The Ministry will then host its second ‘Caymanian Proud: Memories of Her Majesty events on Friday afternoon as part of the year’s Queen’s Platinum Jubilee proceedings. The two sessions will involve panelists discussing memories of the 1983 and 1994 visits, with the second part opening up the floor to the public.

Saturday afternoon will see Protocol Office and MYSCH co-host the Cayman Brac National Heroes Day Awards Ceremony. The first National Heroes Day award ceremony for the sister islands will take place at Aston Rutty Civic Centre in the company of His Excellency The Governor, Martyn Roper; Speaker of the House, Hon.
