Hon. Kenneth Bryan, Minister for Tourism & Ports
The Ministry of Tourism & Ports (MOTP) is pleased to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for the Central Scranton Park, scheduled for Thursday, 12 September 2024, from 5:00pm to 6:30pm. The event will take place at the park site on Ms. Frances Street in George Town, marking the start of the project aimed at creating a space for leisure, wellness and community gatherings for the people of the Cayman Islands.
The Central Scranton Park is being developed under the leadership of the Hon. Kenneth Bryan, Minister for Tourism & Ports and the elected representative for George Town Central. This new park will serve as a key green space in the heart of George Town, offering amenities such as a multidisciplinary sports court, walking trails, playgrounds, and areas for community events and gatherings.
Commenting on the project, Minister Bryan said, “The Central Scranton Park is more than just a green space; it is a commitment to the people of George Town Central and a step towards creating a healthier, more connected community. This park will provide a much-needed recreational area where residents, tourists, and community groups can come together, promoting wellness and community spirit. I am proud to lead this initiative and look forward to seeing the positive impact it will have on the community.”
The Ministry of Tourism & Ports is dedicated to the development and beautification of the Cayman Islands, with a focus on creating spaces that benefit the entire community. “The Central Scranton Park is a testament to this commitment, and the Ministry looks forward to sharing this new space with all who live in and visit George Town,” said Stran Bodden, Chief Officer in the Ministry of Tourism & Ports.
