Miss Annie Huldah Bodden Animatronic (Soon Come) In the first of a more extensive project, for the past year, behind the scenes, the Museum’s efforts to enhance its permanent Cultural History Exhibition and increase its judicial display’s educational reach and entertainment value, will soon be augmented through the addition of a Miss Annie Huldah Bodden Animatronic figure, generously sponsored by the Water Authority Cayman.The lifelike character will celebrate one of Cayman’s pioneer female leader and ‘awaken’ the justice system static display. IMD 2020 goes digital!This year, we turned to social media in celebration of International Museum Day 2020. This year’s theme was “Museums for Equality: Diversity and Inclusion”. Check out the IMD greeting video curated by Museum staff in celebration! Each year on IMD, the National Museum opens a new exhibition, and this year, the Miss Annie Huldah Bodden OBE animatronic was revealed digitally. The history and culture of the Cayman Islands are tied to the sea. The Islands’ location in the heart of the Caribbean and in the route of prevailing winds and currents brought vessels plying the Spanish Main near the small land masses. For more than 200 years after discovery, the Islands were uninhabited, although visited occasionally by sailors to replenish supplies of food and water.
