Cayman National Gallery cancellations
From the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands
The National Gallery (NGCI) is closely monitoring the Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation, and our first priority is the health and comfort of our visitors and staff. We want to assure you that NGCI continues its commitment to being your museum, always in support of the well-being of our community. We are focusing our resources on greater attention to cleanliness and minimizing the circumstances for transmission. Following guidance from the Health Services Authority, current steps include:
- Significantly increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfecting of high-touch areas including door handles, railings, and bathrooms.
- Deployment of hand-sanitization stations throughout the museum, and encouragement of hand-washing.
- Suspension of all business travel for our staff.
- Suspension of group activities and regular programming.
- Formation of an internal task force to monitor the situation, assess decisions and adjust our responses to the evolving guidance and recommendations from the Health Service Authority and the Harzard Management Control Unit, for updates and further necessary precautions.
NGCI will continue to remain open during regular museum hours although there are some changes to our programmes and event schedule until the end of March as follows:
- CANCELLED – FAMILY FUN DAY (March 14th)
- CANCELLED – National Gallery Tea Party (March 19th)
- CANCELLED – Walks Art Clubs (Foundation, Primary, Primary Brac, Secondary, Teens)
- CANCELLED – Toddlers Art Club (Friday mornings)
- CANCELLED – All group tours
We are currently exploring sharing our Island of Women exhibition programme via our online portals and will keep you updated.
We will continue to adjust our policies and practices in response to new developments surrounding COVID-19, as we are monitoring local updates and recommendations from the HSA and HMCU and we will continue to update you via email and through social media (@natgalcayman). You’re also welcome to email us with any questions at [email protected] or via (345) 945 8111.
