Cayman: National Weather Service Satellite Imagery Temporarily Offline
Grand Cayman, 02 July 20214: The Cayman Islands National Weather Service (CINWS) advises the public that effective tonight, the Western Hemisphere satellite imagery on www.weather.gov.kywill be temporarily removed as a precautionary measure to protect the critical equipment ahead of the impending arrival of Hurricane Beryl.
The temporary suspension of satellite imagery will remain in effect until it is deemed safe to resume operations. The decision to take this action has been made to ensure the safety and functionality of our satellite equipment, which is crucial for providing accurate and timely weather updates.
Please note that this action will not impact the Kearney Gomez Weather Radar, which will remain online during the storm.
