Cayman: Overstayer arrested following search/Woman arrested in relation to Governor’s Square robbery/Man charged for West Bay Burglary

Overstayer Arrested Following Search, 23 March
Shortly before 12:00PM on Friday, 20 March, officers were conducting a search warrant at an address in West Bay when they observed a man who attempted to flee upon seeing them.
The man was apprehended and it was determined that he had been overstaying since December, 2019.
The man, a Jamaican national age 41, was arrested and transferred into the custody of Customs and Border Control officers.
Woman arrested in relation to Governor’s Square robbery
On Friday, 20 March, police arrested a woman, age 35 of West Bay, on suspicion of robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery, in relation to the below incident. She has been granted bail as investigations continue.

Robbery on Lime Tree Bay Avenue, 8 February
Shortly after 9:00PM yesterday, 7 February, officers responded to a report of a robbery at Tortuga Liquor in Governor’s Square, Lime Tree Bay Avenue. Two males entered the store, brandishing knives, and demanded cash from an employee there. One of the men assaulted the employee and both males then made off on foot with a quantity of cash, one of them fleeing towards the rear of Cost-U-Less. Emergency services attended the scene and the employee was transported to hospital for treatment, and later discharged.
The suspects are described as being dressed in all black clothing, long pants, long sleeved shirts and gloves, with their faces covered.

Man Charged for West Bay Burglary
A man, age 27 of West Bay, was arrested on Friday, 20 March, and has now been formally charged with Burglary and Refusing to Provide A Specimen of Urine, in relation to an incident on Thursday, 19 March, where a pair of businesses on Batabano Road in West Bay were broken into and items and cash stolen.
He appeared in court this morning, 23 March.
