Cayman: Passport Office on preparing for Hurricane Season
28 June 2022 – The Passport and Corporate Services Office (P&CSO) urges all residents to ensure that travel documents are valid and secured, in preparation for this hurricane season. Residents are advised that travel documents cannot be issued when weather conditions require the closure of Government offices, including the Passport & Corporate Services Office.
As part of readiness preparation, it is essential that:
* Passports and other travel documents are valid
* Holders of British Overseas Territories Citizen (BOTC) — Cayman Islands passports should ensure that the passports are valid for at least six months after the intended date of departure from the United States
* Residents are encouraged to make copies of passports and key documents, such as birth and marriage certificates, Naturalisation and Registration certificates. These should be kept together in waterproof bags or containers and stored securely in a place that is easily accessible during emergencies, particularly during the approach of hurricanes or tropical storms
* If applying for the issuance of a United Kingdom passport, submit only copies of the valid BOTC — Cayman Islands passport
* Residents travelling to other countries should make appropriate plans beforehand to comply with the travel requirements of respective destinations
