Cayman: Platinum Jubilee Weekend Offers Family Friendly Fun
Caymanians, residents and visitors of all ages are urged to make the most of the busy programme of family-friendly activities that will celebrate, Her Majesty the Queen, over the long weekend, 2-6 June 2022.
The Platinum Jubilee Steering Committee has put together several events on all three Islands have been put together by the Platinum Jubilee Steering Committee. These include:
Grand Cayman
Thursday, 2 June
- 2p.m. Reading of the Proclamation of the Official Beacon Lighting, Heroes Square.
- 9.10p.m. Official Beacon Lighting video premieres on Cayman Islands Government channels.
Sunday, 5 June
- 5p.m. A service of thanksgiving at Elmslie Memorial Church
Monday, 6 June
- 5p.m. The Queen’s Birthday Parade and Awards Ceremony, outside of Government House, followed by a garden party on the Government House grounds, where the winning creation from the Platinum Jubilee cake competition will be served.
- 8p.m. A Grand Finale Fireworks Display, to be broadcast by Radio Cayman on 89.9 FM starting at 7.55p.m.
Cayman Brac and Little Cayman will also mark the occasion.

Thursday, 2 June
- 7.30p.m. Beacon lighting ceremony at Aston Rutty Centre
Saturday, 4 June
- 10a.m. The Queen’s Birthday Parade and Awards Ceremony, Aston Rutty Centre.
- 7p.m. A Jubilee celebration with fireworks at Spot Bay Cove.
Sunday, 5 June
- 5p.m. A service of thanksgiving at the Aston Rutty Centre
Little Cayman
Sunday, 5 June
- 11a.m. A service of thanksgiving at the Baptist Church
More information about The Queen, her reign, and upcoming Platinum Jubilee activities is available from www.gov.ky/jubilee. Events will be livestreamed on Government social media. As a number of outdoor events, including the popular Cayman Islands Air Show, have been rescheduled due to poor weather, members of the public should stay tuned to Government channels and local media throughout the weekend for any updates.
