Cayman police aid boat in distress

At 6:53pm Tuesday 18th November 2014, the RCIPS Joint Marine Unit received a report of a boat in distress with 6 persons on board.
Officers on board Cayman Defender responded and found a 43 foot local fishing boat on the North Sound reef. The incident occurred when the Captain was attempting to negotiating the main channel, east of what is locally known as Fisher man’s Rock. In tow was a 25 foot unoccupied sail boat recovered in open seas this boat also became grounded.
At high tide early Wednesday morning both vessels were removed by the Captain who was able to maneuver both vessels with the rising high tide. No injuries were reported.
