Cayman: Police identify deceased in sudden death incident of man falling from balcony

Update (3 March):
The RCIPS can now confirm the identity of the deceased man who fell from the second-story balcony of a storage facility on 24 February (see press release below). He is Nicholas John Keane, a 63-year-old retired police officer from the West Midland area of the UK. Mr. Keane was visiting the Cayman Islands on a long term stay since December 2020.
The RCIPS offers condolences to the family and friends of the deceased.
The RCIPS continues to investigate the incident along with the Department of Labour, Health and Safety. No arrest has been made in relation to this incident.

Initial Release (25 February):
Just after 5PM yesterday, 24 February, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to Ashgo Street, George Town, where it was reported that a man fell from the second story of a storage building.
It was reported that the victim along with two other persons were standing on the outside balcony of the storage facility which had a railing on the second floor, when one of the three, a man age 63, who is a visitor from the UK, fell from the second story balcony to the ground floor. Emergency Medical Services attended the location and transported the man to the hospital by ambulance where he was later pronounced dead by the attending doctor.
The circumstances of this incident is being reviewed by the police.
