Cayman: Police investigate attempted robbery at Seven Mile Beach

Shortly before 1:40AM today, 4 November, officers responded to a report of an attempted robbery which had taken place at the Seven Mile Public Beach. It was reported that 3 men were seated near the parking lot when two masked persons, a man and woman, exited a vehicle nearby and approached them. One of the masked persons brandished a knife and demanded cash. A brief struggle ensued, and the masked persons then returned to their vehicle and drove from the location. One of the three men received minor injuries to his hand during the incident, however nothing was stolen.
Emergency services attended the location and administered first aid to the man who was injured.
The suspects are described as being a man and woman, dressed in all black, and wearing black masks. The vehicle they were driving in is believed to be a Honda Fit or similar vehicle.
The matter is currently under investigation and anyone with any information or who may have witnessed the incident, is asked to contact West Bay CID at 949-3999.
