Just before 2PM yesterday, 18 November, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of a serious assault on Hell Road in West Bay. It was reported that a man was attacked by another man using a machete while he was at the gas station located on Hell Road.

Officers arrived on the scene of the incident and located the injured man who was conscious and appeared alert. They were joined by the ambulance who administered first aid to the victim, then transported him to the hospital.  He was treated for what appears to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries and later discharged.

A short time later a 36-year-old-man of West Bay was arrested in relation to the incident and taken into custody where he currently remains pending further investigations.
