From RCIPS

Shortly after 10:50PM yesterday, 9 June, officers responded to a report of a shooting outside a bar on West Bay Road, just south of Seven Mile Public Beach. It was reported that two men were standing outside the location when they were approached by a masked man who brandished a firearm and opened fire on them. Both men received gunshot wounds and one of the men was transported to the hospital by private vehicle.

Armed officers attended the location and rendered first aid to the second man, until the arrival of emergency medical services. He was then transported to hospital by ambulance.

The first man received a single gunshot wound to the neck, and is currently being treated for the injury, which appears to be non-life-threatening. The second man received multiple gunshot wounds, and remains in critical condition.

The matter is under investigation and anyone with any information, or who may have witnessed anything suspicious in the area around the time of the incident, is asked to contact CID at 949-4222, or 949-3999.
