Shortly after 9:30PM last Thursday, 10 March, officers responded to a report of a single-vehicle collision in George Town, at the intersection of Walkers Road and Melmac Avenue. A blue BMW 335 had been travelling northbound on Walkers Road, when it left the roadway and collided with a utility pole at the location, causing severe damage to the pole and the vehicle. The Cayman Islands Fire Service extracted the driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle. He was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital by ambulance, and is currently being treated for what appear to be serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

The matter is currently under investigation.
