Cayman: Police Investigate Single Vehicle Collision on Shamrock Road, Bodden Town
Shortly before midnight last night, Wednesday 16 February, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 911 Communication Centre to a report of a single vehicle collision on Shamrock Road in the vicinity of Valley Drive, Bodden Town.
The Cayman Islands Fire Service extricated one 43 year old male who was trapped in the vehicle. The man was transported to the Cayman Islands Hospital with a serious head wound and burns to the face and body. On arriving at the hospital he was assessed as in critical condition.
Initial reports show that the vehicle was travelling east along Shamrock Road towards Bodden Town when the vehicle veered to the other side of the road and overturned and came to a stop in bushes on the side of the road.
As at 6.45am this morning the man was undergoing surgery.
