Just before 7:15AM yesterday, 23 May, police and other emergency services were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communications Centre to a residence located in the Governor’s Harbour area of West Bay, where a sudden death incident had taken place. Police can confirm that the victim is young female and that the circumstances a subject to investigation

It has been brought to the attention of the police that messages and speculation regarding this incident has been circulating on social media and the public is being asked to be considerate of the of the privacy of the victim’s family. Please avoid publications with assumptions and speculations regarding the incident and any language and images that may identify the victim and her family, as such actions are insensitive and have the potential to undermine the coronial inquest that is currently underway.
