Cayman: Police investigatee armed robbery in George Town

Just before 1:20AM today 1 June, police were dispatched by the 9-1-1 Communication Centre to a report of an armed robbery at a restaurant located at on Lawrence Blvd, George Town.
Two persons armed with firearms were reported to have attended the location and demanded cash from the register. The perpetrators made off with a quantity of cash in a vehicle towards West Bay Road. Armed officers conducted searches and a vehicle believed to be involved in the incident was recovered by the police as evidence. Further checks were made; however, the perpetrators were not located.
The incident is being investigated by police and anyone with information is being asked to call the George Town Police Station at 949-4222. Anonymous tips can be provided directly to the RCIPS via our Confidential Tip Line at 949-7777, or via our website.
